The INDIANA VENDING COUNCIL

supporting the vending industry for tomorrow

WHO IS THE IVC?
The Indiana Vending Council is a chapter of the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) and is comprised of national and independent vending operators who do business within the state of Indiana, along with many of their suppliers.

WHAT DOES THE IVC DO?
The primary function of the IVC is to keep its membership informed of the new or pending legislation that has a negative impact on the cost of doing business at the state level. It fights against legislation that has a negative impact on the cost of doing business and aggressively supports legislation that has a positive one.

HOW DOES THE IVC DO WHAT THEY DO?
The council is able to retain a staff who spend time communicating directly with our legislators at the state capitol, informing them how certain bills being introduced in the legislature will effect our industry if passed into law.

WHY IS WHAT THEY DO SO IMPORTANT?
Many bills that pass into law do so solely because of the lack of awareness of their existence and therefore have little or no opposition. Without opposition legislators tend to hear just one side of the issue. In many cases proposals will end up as law that only benefits a few at the cost of many. Therefore it's extremely important that our industry is made aware of the introduction of the bills that may adversely effect our industry before they become law.

HOW DO I BENEFIT?
Whether or not you're an IVC member, you're already benefiting every time the efforts of the IVC keeps a bill from passing into law that can adversely effect your business, such as the can tax. You also benefit every time through these same efforts a bill is kept alive or passed into law that will benefit your business and bottom line profits such as sales tax relief.

WHAT PART CAN I PLAY?
Your part is two fold. Obviously, financial support is extremely important for the IVC to continue it's legislative efforts on your behalf. Secondly, and just as important, is your involvement and participation in the IVC itself. Many of your peers and suppliers hold regular meetings where they discuss solutions to the many problems we are all faced with everyday. Your input would be a welcome addition.

WHAT IS THE COST?
The cost to support the efforts of the IVC is nominal when compared to the benefits it renders, not to mention what it would cost everyone as an individual to achieve these same results. Annual dues are less than 55 cents a day, part of which is tax deductible. For just pennies a day you'll continue to have the peace of mind knowing the IVC is watching out for your interest.

WHO CAN JOIN?
Operators of any size. Whether you operate one machine or own a thousand, your support is important. And let's not forget those people we support... our friendly suppliers. Their support is always welcome.
